The Understanding the Code of Virginia class provides important information on the relevant sections of the Constitution of Virginia and statutes of sections 15.2, 46.2 and 58.1 of the Code of Virginia. The text will include not only the statutes but supporting court cases, attorney general opinions and when appropriate tax commissioner rulings. In addition, the text has an appendix that is a valuable research and resource tool.

This is an online class. Each class will divided into 4 sessions.

  • Session 1: a brief check-in at 3:00 pm to make sure that all students are able to connect to the class in Zoom. You are not required to connect with video but it highly recommended. If you do not have access to a camera, you will still be able to see and interact with the class; however, the other participants will not be able to see you.
  • Session 2: class instruction from 9:00 am – 12 noon. There will be breaks and time allowed for Q & A.
  • Session 3: class instruction from 9:00 am – 12 noon. There will be breaks and time allowed for Q & A.
  • Session 4: class review and exam. Class review will begin at 9:00 am. The exam will be available at noon. The exam is administered through UVACollab.
