Taxation of Businesses

Taxation of Businesses is a course intended to provide an overview of the taxation of businesses in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Included are descriptions and instructions for the taxation of business personal property, business and professional and occupational license taxes (BPOL), Merchant’s Capital and local option taxes. In addition instruction is provided regarding the administration of State generated taxes such as Bank Franchise, Daily Rental, Public Service and State Sales and Use Tax.

The course format is a two (2) day offering finishing with an exam after lunch on Day 2. Instruction begins at 9:00 am each day, unless the instructor requests otherwise. Lunch, snacks and drinks will be provided each day. Registration begins at 8:30 on Day 1.
