Conflict Resolution at Joint Training

In conjunction with the Treasurers Association, 4 classes are being offered at the Hotel 24 South on August 7th & 8th – all classes are open to staff from either association. The Treasurers are offering 3 classes: Customer Service, Roles & Responsibilities of the Treasurer & Spanish for Government Officials. Registration for the Treasurer classes is available on the Weldon Cooper site through this link. The Commissioners are offering Conflict Resolution. There is not a separate training day this year. The cost for the event is $185. The fee covers the class, breakfast each day, lunch on Monday, snacks and networking events each evening in the Hospitality Suite. An additional event is planned for Sunday evening for an additional fee ($10) – SALSA SUNDAY at the Baja Bean Co with food, drinks, fellowship and fun!

Conflict Resolution is a course designed to teach the student how to better manage conflict by examining different types of conflict and what causes them, the role of communication in conflict, and the process of conflict resolution. Conflict may be destructive if left uncontrolled but should not necessarily be perceived as causing negative things to happen. Conflict can be viewed positively as an opportunity for learning, and understanding the differences that exist among us. Constructive outcomes may be reached through an effective implementation of conflict resolution skills.

The in person course format is a two (2) day offering finishing with an online exam after the review concludes on Day 2.

• Registration begins at 8:30 on Day 1.
• Instruction begins at 9:00 am each day, unless the instructor requests otherwise.
• The online exam, administered through UVACollab, will be available from noon on Day 2 of the class through 5:00 pm the following business day.
