Audit of Businesses
A course intended to provide guidance and instruction for the establishment of a local tax auditing program in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The course provides information regarding the basics of a local tax auditing program, the statutory authority to conduct audits, the establishing of audit objectives and planning the scope of an audit. In addition, the course provides instruction on writing an audit program, the appeals process and conduct of professional audit behavior and standards.
The course format is a two (2) day offering finishing with an exam after lunch on Day 2. Instruction begins at 9:00 am each day, unless the instructor requests otherwise. Lunch, snacks and drinks will be provided each day. Registration begins at 8:30 on Day 1.
