Confidentiality of personal property records

Hello all,

I am considering hiring a scanning company to scan my inactive personal property files that I am retaining for five years. If I had the company agent sign a confidentiality policy, would it be ok to allow the records to be scanned? Or does the tax secrecy code prohibit this?
